What's on your Costco list?

My sister Tif and I enjoyed a little "Costco talk" yesterday. We talked about all the healthy things to buy at Costco. I like the Muscle Milk a lot for the 20 grams of protein in only 160 calories. And I really like the large, burlap sac of "Gluten Free" Basmati Rice. I'm a huge fan. It's the only white rice that doesn't upset my stomach and I hear, has a much milder effect on blood sugar levels. Nectarines, string cheese, yogurt...I especially like these individually packaged frozen chicken breasts. They are good with everything and so convenient to thaw in the fridge and have ready for the next dinner. What's on your list when you shop at Costco? Or where do you prefer to shop and what do you shop for when you buy groceries?

I totally don't shop Costco... I think it's a scam... gasp! I try to do most of my shopping at WinCo (in Tulalip)-- it's like half the price of Costco, same stuff.

I usually shop at Whole Foods. My married friends tell me that may change if I ever get kiddies because of the cost of food there. You are what you eat - so its worth it to me now. Their produce just can't compare to anywhere else- and since that is where I spend most of my grocery money, I need it to be good. Ralph's (Cali's version of Smith's) produce spoils before I can get it home.

Right now my favorite place to shop is Trader Joes. I like the food coop's here but they are too expensive for us right now. I do like that Costco carries organic grass fed beef now and we get batteries, paper towels and sometimes toilet paper there. We used to get tons and tons and tons of food there when Mike and I both worked but I try to avoid prepackaged foods as much as possible now. I do sometimes get their frozen meat or fruit but I prefer Trader Joes for that just because Costco always takes so long to shop at but I love the free samples! Oh, and Costco used to have a HUGE jug of pure organic maple syrup for really cheap but they made the bottle smaller and more expensive now.

I love costco. I love the organic kirkland brand wheat bread and the lunch meat. And the strawberries and all the cheeses. During the holidays I always impulse shop the yummy treats for those snowed in days.

We shop at Costco all the time. We buy a few things at other stores, like yogurt since they don't carry the flavors I want, but most everything else comes from Costco. If we get separated, we always meet up in the book section. We buy far too many books there!
